Check out all the best of the week in Issue 239 of the Tech Smart Boss Newsletter.
This week’s Cool Tech of the Week makes it easier to manage your websites, it’s WPCodeBox.
WPCodeBox has a great use case for WordPress developers by allowing them to easily add in code snippets to change the behavior of WordPress, plus by allowing you to store said snippets in the cloud, they can easily re-use and deploy them to multiple websites. But my use case is somewhat different.
We’ve talked about using Google Tag Manager in the past as an efficient way to deploy JavaScript snippets in the header and footer of your WordPress site so that you can easily add all the Tech Smart Boss apps we recommend.
I’m trying to use less of Google Tag Manager these days, why? A lot of ad blockers and other privacy extensions have started to block Google Tag Manager from running. So many of your chatbots and analytic tools aren’t being loaded all the time (we’ll talk about loading them while supporting privacy laws like GDPR a different week).
With WPCodeBox, you are able to quickly add code snippets to your header and footer and also designate exactly what pages you want it to run on. It’s easy to set up and manage, and the scripts are naturally added into your WordPress site, so it’s harder to block (but it’s not 100%, some privacy tools will block the Facebook pixel no matter how you load it on your site).
Check it out, our Cool Tech of the Week, WPCodeBox.
We send out the Tech Smart Boss newsletter, once a week, at 10am EST on Saturday. Sign up here (and you can unsubscribe in the footer of the email anytime you like).
