How to Stay On Top of GDPR Compliance Without Spending an Arm and a Leg Using


Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard about GDPR.  That may be a little extreme, I saw a recent survey that only 18% of marketers even know what GDPR is. Well if you don’t know, you should pay attention, it’s a very comprehensive set of rules, enacted by the European Union to protect European citizens personal data, and it affects any business who provides goods or services to European citizens.

The law spells out a lot of things that a business should be doing to protect personal data and it also has some teeth.  Penalties can range from 4% of previous year gross revenue up to $20 million dollars.  I doubt that you are a small business needs to worry about a penalty, but you should take your customers data protection seriously, even if they are not in Europe.  The problem is, time is money, and even understanding what compliance means takes a lot of time. And trying to use a consultant or lawyer is equally as expensive.
